AAAYA DC Summer Picnic Welcomes Yale Class of 2030 Students and Alumni

On August 15th 2026, the AAAYA DC annual summer picnic provided incoming Yale Class of 2030 students with an early introduction to the Yale community beyond the campus.

Organized by the DC chapter of the Association of Asian American Yale Alumni, the picnic brought together new students, alumni, families, and friends. The event enabled students to ask questions. Alumni shared personal tales, offering guidance on balancing academics, exploring student groups, discovering different dining halls, and stories that made Yale feel more accessible.

For incoming students, the picnic was a chance to meet peers and alumni, establishing early connections before the semester began. It reassured families and reminded alumni of their own beginnings. The gathering showcased the care and continuity of the AAAYA community, leaving a lasting impression as students prepare for their journey at Yale.
