AAAYA NorCal invites you to a day at the Angel Island Immigration Station in San Francisco Bay. Come join your fellow alumni and their families on the beautiful island and take a tour of the National Historic Landmark through which hundreds of thousands of immigrants from across the Pacific.

Summer potluck to welcome incoming class of Yalies, and meet local DC/MD/VA alums and Yale students home for the summer.

Professor Grace Kao will provide a short overview of modern K-Pop since the early 1990s. She also reviews other elements of the Korean Wave (Hallyu). Finally, she explores how these matter for Asian Americans, race and ethnic relations, soft power for Korea, and also social movements.

About Dìdi (弟弟): In 2008, during the last month of summer before high school begins, an impressionable 13-year-old Taiwanese American boy learns what his family can’t teach him: how to skate, how to flirt, and how to love your mom.
