On August 9th 2025, the AAAYA DC Chapter welcomed members of the incoming Class of 2029 with fellow Yale students in DC for the summer, Yale alums, and families.

Thank you to everyone who joined the potluck picnic, brought tasty treats, and offered valuable advice to the new Class of 2029 students. Here's some of the advice to the incoming students from AAAYA DC alums:
Expand your horizons in all the ways Yale and New Haven provide to you
Spend the extra time in the dining halls to talk with people about anything and everything.
Keep meeting people!
Join as many clubs as you can so you can expand your friend group and discover new interests.
Have fun and take advantage of all the funding opportunities available!
Have one or two SMART goals for your 4 years at Yale, but leave plenty of room for chance.
Let yourself become inspired—by the people you meet, the questions you wrestle with, and the challenges you didn’t expect. And use that inspiration to inspire others. Share what you’re learning, lift up those around you, and remember that your growth can spark growth in others.
A special thanks to Yale Alumni Association for the continuous support.
Congratulations to the Yale Class of 2029!
