AAAYA Chicago Event Recap – Art Lecture and Visit – The Power and Pleasure of Tea Bowls in Japan – M

On Thursday March 31, 2016 a dozen Young Professionals from AAAYA and the YPC attended the Art Institute’s lecture on the Power and Pleasure of Tea Bowls in Japan given by Morgan Pitelka, professor of Asian studies and history at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and director of the Carolina Asia Center. We learned about ceramics production and the beauty and trends in the art of tea bowls throughout the centuries and today in Japan and Asia.
