Los Angeles Screening of "A Nice Indian Boy" with Yalie Director Roshan Sethi

Yalies watched the hilarious rom-com "A Nice Indian Boy," followed by a Q&A with Yalie director Roshan Sethi and lead actor Karan Soni on April 15 at HiTops Los Feliz. Roshan described his career path from Yale to Harvard Medical School to physician to medical advisor to the Resident TV series, and then this film. In casting, they cold-reached out to Jonathan Geoff and comedian Zarna Garg who read the script and said YES! Several of the comedian cast improvised some of their lines. Roshan said some of his own dating experiences are in the first date and other scenes. Actor Karan Soni (Dopinder in Deadpool, and voice of Indian Spider-Man in Spiderverse) improvised his text messages. The film sold out its screenings at its SXSW premiere last year. Audiences and critics love it, saying it's heartwarmingly fun with an impressive 98% on Rotten Tomatoes.
