AAAYA NorCal: Snow Falling on Cedars by TheatreWorks at Mountain View Center for the Peforming Arts – Mountain View – Sa 4/9 – 8 pm
Please join us for a moving exploration of love, justice, war, and prejudice at TheatreWorks’ performance of “Snow Falling on Cedars.” Based on the best-selling novel by David Guterson, which won the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction, this murder mystery is set against the backdrop of World War II. A Japanese American war veteran returns home to a small island off the state of Washington and is accused of murdering a childhood friend in a dispute over land lost by his family during the Japanese internment.
The performance will be followed by a special panel discussion organized by Dr. Carol Mimura ’79 BK for AAAYA members and their guests only about the 442nd Regimental Combat Unit and the Japanese internment experience.
