On February 15th, at least 20 celebrants of the Lunar New Year gathered for dim sum and sparkling wine on the top floor of a Union Square apartment building before descending to the streets to get a closer look at San Francisco’s Chinese New Year Parade as it winded its way on Post Street and up Powell Street. This is the second year that the “CNY pre-parade event” was hosted by Wayne Lew ’72 TC and his wife Fei Tsen. Bulldogs present included Melissa Chan ’02 BK, Jeffrey Chang ’13 MBA, Eric Feng ’10 BK, Anthony Hsu ’12 ES, Jennifer Kang ’96 JE, Praveen Khilnani ’97 MEM, Hamsa Murthy ’98 MC, Bryan Wong ’05 PC, Danielle Wong ’13 MBA, Julie Wong ’86 TC and Jamie Yoo ’06 BR. The group looks forward to an exciting Year of the Horse, including working on projects in Chinatown, Angel Island or a women’s shelter for this year’s Yale Day of Service. Many are expected to attend the first ever Yale Asian Alumni Reunion in April.
