AAAYA NorCal invites you to a day at the Angel Island Immigration Station in San Francisco Bay. Come join your fellow alumni and their families on the beautiful island and take a tour of the National Historic Landmark through which hundreds of thousands of immigrants from across the Pacific.

About the Event

AAAYA NorCal invites you to a day at the Angel Island Immigration Station in San Francisco Bay. Come join your fellow alumni and their families on the beautiful island and take a tour of the National Historic Landmark through which hundreds of thousands of immigrants from across the Pacific, including from China, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, and India, passed through between 1910 and 1940. You will also see the new Angel Island Immigration Museum which tells the west coast immigration story before, during, and after the Angel Island period, up until the current day.

We will be led by Grant Din '79, volunteer, consultant, and former staff member with the Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation, who co-curated an exhibit about the Japanese immigrants who were detained on the island as so-called "enemy aliens" during World War II.
