AAAYA Southern California Officially Launched! Oct 10, 2009

A lovely time was had by all!  We bonded…..we shared stories…we ate delicious appetizers…it was a beautiful evening, and everyone was happy to be part of  Southern California’s Inaugural Reception.  The general feeling was that this membership was long overdue.  In a town with so many Asian Americans from Yale – we really needed to get this group together.   And so here we are, feeling quite optimistic and looking forward to a strong network.

Going forward, AAAYA Southern Ca is planning not One…But Two community service projects, both on November 14th; the Food Bank project at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank – a much utilized service before the holidays, and a Free Health Clinic for Taxi Drivers – where actual medical care will be provided to Taxi Workers – who really are in need.

We have been blessed with an abundance of enthusiasm for both projects but can certainly use more volunteers, if you, or anyone you know (not necessarily Yalies), especially Health Care Professionals, would like an opportunity to help out November 14th, please e mail: azankung@aol.com.

We welcome everyone!

Thanks so much.  I leave you with something to keep in mind……

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Mahatma Gandhi
